In this painting, done in an eye twinkling, no major landscaping or architectural complexities. Only the desire to fix a moment and evoke some sunny Summer afternoons, languid and luminous by means of a heat that only invites to be in the shade. Looking at the freshness of the shaded tunnel under the vines that enters into the farm, just feel like diving into it as if it was a swimming pool... But why talking about swimming pools, if nearby there shall be certainly a refreshing river or stream or, at worst, a cold granite watering tank ?
Neste trabalho, feito num abrir e fechar de olhos, não há grandes complexidades paisagísticas ou arquitecturais. Apenas o desejo de fixar um momento e evocar certas tardes de Verão soalheiras, luminosas e pachorrentas por obra de um calor que só convida a estar na sombra. Ao ver o túnel de frescura que sob as vinhas avança pela quinta dentro, só apetece mergulhar nele como se de uma piscina se tratasse... Mas para quê falar em piscinas, se nas proximidades deverá haver de certeza um refrescante rio ou ribeiro ou, na pior das hipóteses, um fresco e granítico tanque de rega?

:) paisagem de um verão pachorrento? que delícia! essa imagem evocou lembranças do calor adorado e aqueceu um pouco o inverno gélido que assola minha terra nessa época...
Engraçado como climaticamente estamos em lados opostos... Os dias aqui têm sido quentes e luminosos, e é difícil imaginar esse Inverno gélido que tem sido notícia por cá, mas cujos rigores também iremos voltar a experimentar daqui a poucos meses.
