Just gorgeous, Paulo! It appears you sketch in pencil or charcoal. Can you paint with watercolors on top of those media? I can't imagine you re-create the drawing in ink first. Just beautiful!
Thank you for your kind words. Usually my sketches are in pencil. Then the drawing is transfered to watercolor paper and re-enhancened with sharp-pencil, over which I paint in watercolor. You can see a post on all that process here http://j.mp/CDpvu
Oh, wow! You inevitably draw your painting around four times in order to satisfy your imagination of the final illustration, before paint. I can appreciate that process, and certainly the time and effort you put into each finely-detailed landscape. Your scenes & mastery of light & shadow MESMERIZE me. Thank you for making your art affordable to so many. I am so happy & feel fortunate to have claimed "A Narrow House" and "A Local Shop". Art is my addiction, and yet a luxury. To find an artist whose work screams "JOY" to me -- which I can afford to escape within, in my own home -- is a rarity. I'll be back for more. :) Thank you, Paulo!
Thanks so much, J. If my work is able to provide you such escapes and sensations within your home, I couldn't be happier :)) Your appreciation keeps me motivated: I hope to work more and better in order to support your healthy addiction, yet without making it a luxury by keeping it affordable.
