At the shop's entrance / À porta da loja

Which other place could be best located to enjoy a chat under the last sunshine in an Autumnal afternoon, but the entrance of the shop in the centre of the village, where everybody meets everybody?

An intimate, every day scene, that draws us in to the conversation going on, even if we don't understand it. Certainly the image is a universal one. I love your paintings because they preserve the past without being nostalgic in a cliche way. They are honest and beautiful.

Very nice close-up image, Paulo, with all the village personalities. I wanted to be a follower to your blog, but wasn't able to click on your follower list- I'll try again.

Mineke, thank you for your words. I have memories of spending my school holidays camping near quiet villages like this, so I had the chance to enjoy this quiet atmosphere that in many cases is still existing in actual days.

Rob, thank you: Every village has its own characters and personalities, older or younger, but especially older, as the youngest are sadly moving to the cities or even abroad, in search of a better life, only returning on holidays.
I think there may be some malfunction with Blogger, hopefully temporary. I hope you can manage in your next attempt.

A nice weekend for both!!
