Friday sketches / Esboços à Sexta - 16

The first sketch is from the previous painting.
The second one shows how I've been adding a few shadows for better ligh and shadow orientation.
The third sketch is a step into a path I wanted to follow more often, some paintings of people working in their fields. The “organised chaos” of vegetables, flowers and fruit trees, mixed with vines, stacks and all sorts of improvised structures is something that may never appear in the pages of a “house and garden” magazine, but I find a true fascination on it, the one of the genuine and simple things, a sort of true human scale. Maybe because in the future I wouldn't mind to be in that good old man's shoes, the same ones he removed for a better contact with the land.

O segundo mostra a forma como tenho vindo a acrescentar sombras para melhor orientação em termos de luz e sombra.
O terceiro é um passo em frente num caminho que gostava de seguir mais vezes, pinturas de pessoas a trabalhar no campo. O “caos organizado” de hortaliças, flores e árvores de fruto, à mistura com vinhas, toda a espécie de estacaria e de estruturas improvisadas é algo que provavelmente nunca aparecerá em revistas tipo “casa e jardim”, mas encontro nele o fascínio das coisas genuínas e simples, uma espécie de escala verdadeiramente humana. Talvez porque no futuro não me importasse de me ver nos sapatos daquele bom velhote, os mesmos que retirou para melhor contactar com a terra.
