Three old retired friends / Três amigos reformados

Three old friends already retired meet for another afternoon of conviviality. Is likely that they know each other since ever in this old neighborhood, a true village within the city, where they live for decades, have created their children, and faithfully remain even after the departure of these to form their own families in some apartment of the suburbs.

OMG!!! This is a masterpiece Paulo! You just amaze me! [ are you tired of hearing that from me?] All that detail with the tiles on the building. The little old lady walking away. Is that dog taking a leak? I love the way you renderd the sky by overlapping your strokes. The gutter drain, the tram rails, everything. Happy Valentines' Day my friend!

Sheila, I'll never be tired of your words: You're always so kind and positive, and a strong woman too. I wish you all the best!
You checked out all the details in this painting :). Yes, the little dog is taking a leak. This kind of old familiar neighborhoods still exist in cities as Lisbon or Porto, and they have a life of its own.
A happy and cheerful Valentine for you!!

Paolo, I can never top what Sheila just wrote. But, I agree with her 100%. And, I had to take another look at the dog:) Be well!

Terrific painting Paulo. The interaction of the three friends tells me this is a pleasant place to live and to just see.

Indeed, Stephen. I can imagine these three buddies enjoying a sunny Sunday afternoon around the neighborhood or in the local tavern having a chat, playing cards, or listening the soccer games in an old radio...

I love these old neighborhoods and scenes of everyday life. I always view your paintings large, because there is so much to discover in them. The washing hanging out to dry, the decoration on the house's facade, all speak of the character of these places.

Paulo--
Another nice one. What is the little doggy doing? I think I know.

Mineke, a person can be lost in all the small details that exist in these houses and neighborhoods. So much to see... And even if we can't see from the street, another world exists in the backyards... I want to show that in the future, too!

You can guess indeed, Terry :) Naughty little dog: All his dog neighbors will do the same now!

A wonderful Sunday to both!!
