Livraria Sousa & Almeida / Sousa & Almeida bookshop
It may not have tourists queuing at its entrance, nor the formatted comfort of its franchised counterparts, but it has books that no one would find on those. Quite rare have been my trips to Porto without a peek into its window always filled with interesting titles, with a highlight on regionalist themes. Some few times, much less than I wished as it is the wallet that sets the rules, those peekings ended up in a small increase of the occupancy rates in the home shelves, after pleasing instants of enjoyment.
Next Summer, this venerable bookshop will join the list of lifetime shops that I've seen disappearing, and the Fábrica street will surely become more uninteresting. The reasons are the usual on these days: To make room for the expansion of a nearby hotel.
Despite all international prizes it may win, a city where traditional shops are kicked out to install hotels is a little bit like those people who, inebriated by their entrance into the hall of fame, decide to turn their backs to the old friends that helped them to get there.

As always happens with the vehicles I intend to sketch, the lorry decided to move away, leaving me on my own in what concerns to colors and shadows.
