Chapel in a village / Capela numa aldeia
What is picking up that entertained character we see on the left of a picturesque chapel in a far village? Probably that same question is being made by the neighbor in the balcony, but the answer may be hidden forever in any corner of that small square immersed in the calm of the afternoon: The characters of these small paintings do not always bother to give the one who paints them an account of what they are doing ...

Excelente aguarela!
ReplyDeleteEncata-me o tabique da 1ª casa da direita.
Cumprimentos.
Oh, this is great! So many great elements in this one, and so many stories it tells.
ReplyDeleteHappy you liked, Rob. Many elements in a quiet scene.
Bom fim-de-semana!
Happy weekend!
Maybe she sees a lttle butterfly and wants to try to catch it. The family pet member wants in on what the lady is doing. The gentleman at the balcony is surely looking at you and wondering what it is you paint. How simple and plain their lives look and yet it's an atmosphere of contentment. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend, great work.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gloria: That's a beautiful story to illustrate this scene. I agree with your words about the atmosphere on it. Have a wonderful weekend, too :))
