Four old men seated in a wall / Quatro velhotes sentados num muro

The autumn is warm between us and slow to manifest itself in its fullness, with all that is good and less good, such as lack of water and the finding that the year's seasons are now more mixed than a week of laundry in the drum of a washing machine. It is likely therefore that the quartet of the image can still have a few more good afternoons for enjoying the view and the company in this same place, without the risk of contracting any of the flu now available in a wide choice as announced on TV...

  1. I know you've told me before, many of the sceneries are from your memory and imagination...are these men from your imagination too?

  2. Yes they are, Sheila, but these figures are so tipycal and easy to find in our countryside that it's very easy to memorize their type :))

  3. Well I attended a drawing glass in which the teacher has been commissioned to paint murals of scientists at Stanford University and a past California Governor. He told the class only very advanced artists can draw from their imagination!

  4. It is very possible. However I wouldn't put myself in that group because still unable to transfer into paper most of my ideas. Still have a long way to go on practice and observation, and could use some drawing casses too, in order to improve :)

  5. Hi Paulo. It's a great painting. I like the man who is acknowledging the doggie. He has a smile on his face and is petting the doggie. Of course the little paws on the man's leg means that the acknowledgement is being returned. I love your paintings because they always tell a story. Have a great week.

  6. These villages have always a few friendly doggies, sometimes a bit shy, and of course friendly people too :))
