Getting around by the high Minho lands, turned even brighter by the Spring, is to be sure of meeting some simple and charming houses, where life still runs peacefully. It was from there that came the inspiration for this work.

That rust is the kind of small details that always interest me, Sheila, as well as all the signs of past time and weather in the stones, walls, old wooden doors, etc.

I love the terracota red of the bricks here...you've depicted the feel of sunlight really well....I am constantly stunned by your output..Tell me, do you ever want to work in a different format or medium?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Niall: I've been thinking on giving a try to gouache: Sometimes I feel that a bit more thick and opaque colors would be nice. Oil painting is something that would like to try one day, but still scares me. I think that should start by having lessons.
ReplyDeleteIn what concern to formats, I've been trying larger ones, up to 12"x9", but only to conclude that the most comfortable for me are the tiny ones. At the moment, I'm considering occasional downsizes to Aceo's or even smaller...
