A beautiful day is just starting, and already a shepherd gets around with the goats in the meadows near the mill. Does he actually know that this place, to which he is acquainted since ever, and where the impressive silence is only cut by the singing of the water and the occasional voice of an animal, is actually a true Paradise?
Fabriano cold-pressed 5"x 7" - 140lb (12,5x18cm - 300g/m2) paper

That little spot of sunlight behind the shepherd is genius Paulo.
ReplyDeleteI'm still wondering how you are able to link your blog to Twitter.
Thank you, Sheila. Actually the colors in the original are much more lively, and I feel sorry for not succeeding to scan it properly.
ReplyDeleteFor the link, I used a tool named BigTweet: If you have Firefox, you can go to their page www.bigtweet.com, and drag the button to your Firefox toolbar. Then, eveytime you want to link something, just click the button and a box will appear: You can update from there, and the shortened link will automatically be visible, you just have to add it.
Also I would recommend you Twhirl, a tool that allows you to make all your Twitter activities from your computer's desktop: It's very practical and much easier to use than Twitter homepage.

Paradise, it is! Beautiful, Paulo.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a breath of fresh, mountain air just looking at your painting.
I think I want to be walking there in what seems to be a cool morning. The goats are going about their business, some drinking, some appear to be looking at us who are looking at them. I love this painting. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNancy and Gloria, it is indeed a cool and silent morning... The water is fresh... I visited a couple of places like this last weekend and still can feel the freshness of the air. They are a favorite inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou know...it's the consistancy with which you produce your paintings which impresses me Paulo.I'm sure I wouldn't be able to do that.I am going to take inspiration from your gorgeous work and have a go at my own water colours.
ReplyDeleteNiall, one and a half year after I started to do these small paintings, I have now the feeling of having finally found "my" colors, and also "my" subjects, even it is likely that they will change, and hopefully improve with time.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that you will have a go with your watercolours: If you start with small works, you will always find a time and a place in your day to give yourself a full enjoyment of those.
I wish you plenty of hours of watercolour painting pleasure :))
Fantastic Paolo. My imagination is transported by all of these vistas you've been painting.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for that, Stephen, and always looking forward to run into the "real" places that give me the inspiration for these.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful....
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terry. Have a great weekend!
